Our Qualifications

When you work with an outside course developer, it is important that they speak your language, understand your constraints, and share your priorities.

Team Qualifications
Canis Learning Systems is led by Todd Wieland, who has over 15 years of higher education, training, and program development experience. Todd’s career has spanned every phase of higher education, from recruiting students to serving as President of a non-profit, online degree-granting institution. He has experience as both a non-traditional and traditional administrator, including extensive exposure to the regional and national accreditation and state authorization and approval processes.

Todd has assembled a stellar team of course developers, faculty members, and subject matter experts who support Canis Learning Systems’ efforts on a project basis. Their profiles are available for review upon request and mutual interest.

Every member of a Canis Learning Systems project team can be expected to possess appropriate academic credentials, life and business background, and educational experience to contribute to each program’s quality and credibility.

Course Qualifications
Canis Learning Systems is careful to match each course to its expected program level. Continuing education courses are delivered with e-learning and immediate application in mind.

Academic courses are tailored to meet their expected degree level: Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral. Course elements (assessment measures, assignments, case studies, simulations, etc.) are modular, and are configured to meet the expected level.

Developer Qualifications
Course developers on Canis Learning Systems projects participate in the design process to facilitate a client’s smooth delivery experience. They interact with the course materials as they are developed by subject matter experts and often interface directly with the client’s learning management system.

Course developers guard the quality of Canis Learning Systems’ final product. They are generally expected to possess at least a Bachelors degree, preferably a Masters, or equivalent experience.

Faculty Qualifications
Faculty members who either participate on development teams or instruct in
turnkey programs are guaranteed to meet or exceed our clients’ accreditation standards. For turnkey faculty, clients are provided complete faculty files, including official transcripts of all degrees.
